I wanted to portray the Theatre District as a fanciful stage set.

I was inspired by paper puppet theatres that build scenes in layers. I knew I could use die cuts to make a booklet that felt similarly interactive.

First PrototypeI flipped the book's orientation so each theatre could be layered with curtains and a proscenium arch.My peers enjoyed discovering the flip. But the booklet felt clunky and its form did not lend well to the information. What would I put on the back of flipped up pages?

Second PrototypeI designed a more compact form by splitting pages in half.The covers open from both sides to retain an orientation change and mimic curtains opening.
